New Love

by Mark Marchand   Jul 21, 2006

I turned around
and there you were.
A beacon of light
in my really dim world.

The twinkle in your eye
the smile on your face.
Filled me with a warmth
that let me know my heart was safe.

I sat there by you
on the very first night.
Knowing there was something special
something very right.

Now you stepped into my life
and nothing feels the same.
My emotions have exploded
you have shown me love again.

So now let me thank you
for everything you are.
An angel sent to greet me
and fill the space in my heart.

I really like this piece-it reminds me of my own situation where I'd given up on love and all I believed it should be and then met someone who made me realize I wasn't wrong to believe as I did, that love can be how I always dreamed it should be.Sometimes love finds us when we aren't even looking for it.And that is a wonderful thing. This poem expresses so well, both in meaning and emotion, what meeting that special someone can change in your life.Very well expressed and written.A beautiful poem.
