The Cat's Smile

by Akane   Jul 23, 2006

I walk alone in this forest of unknown,
lost down the rabbit hole,
and forgotten how to swim,

Still..I know why the Cheshire cat grins,
He knows your fate,
He tries to warn you,
but you dont understand...

His smile misleads,
as his words are spoken,
you think nothing of it,

and walk into the dragon's den.
the queen's temper,
is one to match,

the Cheshire cat...only smiles and watches,
he tried to warn you,
he tried to help you out,
but you didnt look past the smile,
and left with no doubt,

That the cats riddle is nothing more,
then a lie.
So when the queen shouts,
off with their head.

He disappears,
and his smile still remains.
as the last thing you see...
the last breathe reminder.

Of who warned you,
and who didnt listen.

The only way,
to stop the cat's smile.
Is to appear in the woods.

With your head on your shoulders,
and a smile of your own.
