Waist of time

I know it's been awhile
and you have forgotten me
but i can't put it in the past
the way things use to be

as i look back now
i took the blame for every fight
when you caused most of them
i lost the sleep at night

everything was always my fault
when i hadn't done a wrong
it seems like now you always tried
to make me feel like i didn't belong

you were the one screwing up
you were the one going down
you tried to make me look guilty
you enjoyed seeing me frown

you lied to my face
and you broke my heart
it makes me so mad
but so glad we're apart

i waisted many tears on you
and i now know that was dumb
you weren't worth any of them
after so long I've finally learned

you have taught me a lesson
about coming together and breaking apart
true love is too strong
for the human heart.
