Daddy's little girl

by Aly   Jul 24, 2006

Crows feet around the eyes and a little balding hair,
a sweet 45 yr old with the biggest heart to share,
Angry, happy, sad or mad,
He was always there for me, even when things turned bad,
Daddy's little princess, to daddy's little queen,
I'll always be his little angel in his eyes it seems,
early morning tickles, to late night "tuck me in's",
he was the reason why my little life got to begin,
From holding my hand while i crossed the street,
or asking "daddy will you marry me?" before i went to sleep.
from my biggest hunger, to my littlest thirst,
He tells my boyfriend from time to time "hey, i loved her first.",
From my first steps, to my first word,
I've always been my daddy's little girl.
Now that I've gotten older, some things have brought change,
but the important things in this man's heart will always stay the same,
I know one day he'll have to give me away,
and i know it'll tug at my heart on that beautiful day,
and i know as i leave him and take those last steps and say my final goodbye,
i know I'll fight the tears, but I'll love that man until i die,
no matter where this life takes me, he'll always be the center of my world,
cuz born and raised and forever i will stay,
Daddy's little girl
