Raft

by Matt   Jul 25, 2006

Alone at sea on some broken planks
And and a makeshift sail to move
If only the wind would blow, just a little
To move this pathetic wreck home
No movement for weeks and I'm still here
If I die out here, all alone
I'd pass my life always wondering
Each day, did you think of me
Did I run through your mind
Like you ran though mine?
Did I finally know what love was?
Or was it just another lie to myself?
If I somehow made it back
There would be so much to do and say
I could be your graceless angel
Always there for you, like a rock in a storm
Would my madness overcome?
Do you really care like you say you do?
Tell me, is there any hope left?
If I don't make it to the end of this voyage
There are a few things you need to know
And here I'll leave all of it before I go
Sadly enough, it can be said in one line
Just one short verse of the passing time
Three words are all I need
...
...
...
...
...
But the wind did blow.

Awesome work. Especially the missing part followed by the words, "But the wind did blow."
