Discrimination

by Jae   Jul 26, 2006

Discrimination,
Its circling,
Becoming a predator to man kind.
It turns the nicest people into vultures.
Eating off the pain and suffering of others.
They complain about us being here.
They want us gone.
Yet, when we leave, they will fail...
When we stop working, they will have to work.
Here they sit, in Spanish Class, trying to learn the language,
But they ridicule the culture.
They know nothing about us.
Who we are,
Who we want to be.
They judge us.
Its funny how no one knows their identity anymore.

I AM A CHICANA.
It remains in my blood, and my heart.
Why can i not speak up?
No puedo.
Would it do any good?
If i scream, will it remain a whisper?
What will i risk, and how long will it take?
Forever, or now?
