Hanging On

by Natali Lopez   Jul 28, 2006

I'm hanging on to something that isn't there.
It's long gone.
Away from here.
I should have told him how I feel.
Now I can't.
He's moved on, somewhere new.
I have to get over feeling so blue.
It's been months and still no word.
I guess I don't deserve it.
I guess not everyone is perfect.
In my eyes you were,
You were everything I dreamed.
You were once my fantasy.
I'm hanging on to every memory,
Every smile.
It's all in my file.
How you made my heart beat a thousand times a mile.
But all that's gone.
It's been gone for a while.
I have to move on.
I have to start a new song.
One without you.
One with only me.
I'm hanging on,
to something that will never be.
I'm hanging on,
and it's making me bleed...
