The Cry of a Blessing

What is a girl to do?

Smile and say hi
Or walk the other way
Without the slightest look
Of whats going on

I know whats going on
Everyone knows

But-
Nobody is doing anything
Maybe, the same reason as me
Don't know where to start first

Whats the best way?
Something needs to be done
But I'm lost
On my part
For what needs to be done first

I'd love to help
But I'm scared
I might get my own self in harm
For trying to help

Oh what is a girl to do?

I hear the screaming
Just like everyone else does
From a mile away

The sound that
Can not be ignored

I want to help
But how God?
Is this my part
To take action
Or just walk away

But I can not ignore it anymore
It bring tears to my eyes

I know what would be
The right thing
So does everyone else...

But nobody wants the responsibility

Should I?
How long have I
Been pondering about this?
More than long enough

I know your talking to me
But do you have me
Mistaken with someone else, God?

I can not turn the other way

I walk toward it....

The sound is louder
With every step I take
And God present with each step

Bend over the trash can
And pick up
The blessing God has brought
In my new life

A blessing that'll change
My life for a lifetime
