My Wife

by Derrek   Jul 31, 2006

This is not how I feel about women, I just thought it might be a good premise for a poem.
On numerous occasions I have fought for womens rights. This is just a word of warning, dont hate me, hate the people who inspired me to right this.

I just got through the door, after a long hard day of work

My patience was razor thin, I knew I might seem like a jerk

So when my wife approached me, her arms across her chest

I knew I'd have to hear her nag, before I got to rest

She blocked my pathway to the couch, Before my tie was loose

Her mouth was open, her voice was loud, I just wanted a noose

I sighed aloud, not saying a word, hoping she'd understand

But when she wouldn't shut up, She met the back of my hand

She turned her head to meet my gaze, tears coming down her cheek

she knew that if she hit me back, her hope to live would be bleak

I stood and grabbed her by the arm, and threw her to the floor

she stared at me, began to scream, so I rammed her head into the door

she was barely conscious, which was fine by me, she had to learn

I started to explain myself, making sure my voice was stern

"When I get home I will not be greeted by your shrilling voice"

"You may give me a kiss on the lips, what happens then is MY choice"

"You will NOT ask me to clean the house whenever Im at home

"Until I say you're allowed to speak, LEAVE ME ALONE!!"

I asked her if she understood, she replied with a slow nod

I kissed her on her forehead and went upstairs to wash my bod

To no surprise when I came back down I told her to clean up

I threw a rag at her, and gave her warm water in a cup

The day went on without delay, no more problems to be had

When I noticed the effect I had, no longer did I feel bad

From that night on, I was genuinely pleased with life

From that night on, my conscience was clear, and I could stand my wife
