Closer than expected

We became closer than expected and u became my boyfriend.
We promised we were going to be together until the end.
But i guess the end came too soon.
I was so dumb i was just a fool.
How can i let you get that close to my heart.
We should have stayed friends just like we were from the start.
You broke my heart into itsy bitsy flakes.
As i grew to figure out life goes on and we learn from our mistakes.
