World portrait

by sylvania   Aug 1, 2006

Time has passed and each day
is an emergent progression
Where instead of finding myself
I create myself
Because I need to march along this
changing universe
All this pessimism sometimes surrounds
Our soul
And in spite of the diversity were in this as a whole
The children of the world
And mother earth as our womb
All these wars and political rubbish
They cant take away the dreams of a generation
The seeds have been planted
But theyre yet to be seen
Some have endeavor to save this era
But all has failed
One cannot be blinded by the leaders of our
world
And the so called past heroes
What have they done for our future
Nada,
History repeats itself when men dont accept the outcome of their actions
But I believe theres a rebel in all of us
Not a leader that seeks recognition
Not a hero that seeks admiration
These are rag dolls of society
And society is not a whole
Its only a dream
Because this world is chaos
Theres too much of everything
that represents nothingness
Theres too many religions
And yet not one saint
Theres too many followers
And yet no proof
Theres too many analysts
And yet no truth
Theres too many leaders
And yet no one follows
Theres so many wars
And yet no causes
Theres too many people
And yet no individuals
Theres too much money
And yet, so much insufficiency
Theres so much technology
And yet less education
Theres so much entertainment
And yet no knowledge
This is the foundation of a generation
That riots with expression
And rouses that intellectual in all of us
We no longer live under oppression
Then why should our voices not be raised
In the presence of inequity
Why should we bow down when its freedom
Of expression
These are the awakening hours
A time to revolutionize not just on the outside
But from within
Weve been slaves for centuries
Slaves of a common monster
Slaves of a men made mentality
And our knowledge has no limits
Were all alike even when our tendencies
Tell us otherwise
This is a liberation of my inner aspirations
Today Im affirming that we have the power to change and edify our progeny
And finally get it right
This is my world portrait
