Sweet Dreamer

by Sean Dohr   Aug 2, 2006

Staring between window and chairs,
sits a women with dog shaped hair.
A thick black mat bound to her head,
rests upon the window's edge.

Dreams of peace surface as she drifts,
earthly worries of sand, sift.
Fantasy land arrives between eyes and lids,
troubled memories, she's temporarily rid.

Gleeful grins arise in her sleep,
reality tries to escape, but she buries it deep.
Where you and I see money and fame,
she looks at life within a different frame.

As glamour fades we lay disappointed,
in her rest, human greeds are anointed.
Seeing life through unopened eyes,
brings clarity to beauty, eyes disguise.

Hours of digging and reality's surfaced,
fantasy's fled, along with life's purpose.
Awoken alas, as the train slowly stops,
won't be at peace until her lids again drop.
