Desiree

by Cj Barritt   Aug 5, 2006

Once I saw an angels face
She came here from a far away place
Her figure petite and frail
Her fingers small and pale
She took my breath away
Her name was Desiree

This angel had a home
A family all her own
I knew her well you see
For she was kin to me
In her smile she blessed us all
Her voice of bells would often call
She loved her family
Even when she was tiny

But one day this angel flew
And there was nothing we could do
God called to our Desiree
The day our angel passed away
And though our tears were shed
She now sleeps in a happier bed
Her wings are soft and white
Her smile lights up the night

So when you feel a touch
Soft as an artist's brush
Maybe you'll smell her hair
But surely you'll fell her there
Shes come to say hello
She wants to let you know
By the act of caressing your face
She says shes in a better place
And when she goes
Know she wishes she could stay
Our fallen angel, Desiree
