The old you

by Sorefromreality   Aug 5, 2006

I saw you today
i went to your house for your daughter's party
i miss the old you

you were smoking outside
something the old you wouldn't have done
you barely said two words
the new you isn't much fun

you acted like a stranger
to your own sister and family
you pretended to be fine
as if u could fool me

i knew you didn't care
you wanted everyone to leave
they all bought your shy, standoff act
but I'm not so naive

ever since we were young
i could see right through your costume changes
but now it's hard just to see you at all
your always in a ur own world, like a cage

when i left you never said goodbye
and went to the car with tears in my eyes
you were always so much prettier than me
i always imagined what you'd grow up to be

but your grown up self isn't what i expected
i don't think it's even what you wanted

i went to see you today
i went to your house for your daughter's party
did you even see me?
do you even miss me?

  • Great peom, through I don't really like the internet slang that fell in like 'u' and stuff. It's rhythematic and touching with great form, but not too powerful or ecspecailly skilled. So, you get a 4/5 from me.
