Love and Lust

by Raydeen   Aug 5, 2006

Love is a feeling, yet maybe a choice.
and lust is but a sound of an enticing struggle between two bodies.
but how many of us choose lust over love.
the promise of love battles against the simplicity of lust.
but sometimes we need the promise over the simplicity.
and maybe lust leads to love, but we still expect simplicity with it all.
we are complex when it comes to love, and incomplex when it comes to lust.
we choose whatever it is that may come easier for us, because anything worth working for may be a bust in the end.
anything worth working for is something that we expect to always be there, no questions.
lust isn't worth working for, and when it leaves in the end, there is no hurt, no mark left upon our innocent bodies.
so does love come from the mind or the heart, is it a feeling or a choice, and if you end up getting hurt in the end, do you blame your heart, mind, or the other person.
and does lust come from the mind or the heart? because when it leaves maybe we do care, because we gave our bodies for a little lust, and what does that make of us?
but when love leaves, we are left with scars all upon our no longer innocent bodies, and we never want love again, maybe that is where lust comes from, from the scars that something so ethereal so unbelievable could give us.
and when we swear to never love after the first love blew over, why is it so easy to find another, but why does it never live up to the expectations from a first love, why, do we long for the love that scarred us.
and does lust end up making us feel unworthy in the end, because in lust you are giving your body, and maybe we want something more.
in love you get more in return, but we try not to love after we know what it can become, what it can make of a once beloved couple.
so in the end which overcomes, love or lust? heart or mind? in the end which one wins.
