A castle of words

by Deana   Aug 6, 2006

Building a castle of words around her heart
Every stone in place with thought and care
A strong tower standing above the rolling hills.
Protecting her from the barrenness out there

In scarlet velvet she would dream
Escape to a fantasy of sensuality
Beautiful words like mortar
Holds together a castle of unreality

In sadness, the stones have jagged edges
The castle begins to crumble and fall
In her memory she hears the echo
The echo of them all

The castle lay in ruins now
The stones had not held true
Choked her as she tried to breathe
scarlet velvet, in tatters at her feet

She would rebuild the castle,
She really had no choice
She would find the stones
In the beauty of a silent voice.

    I like the title.
    A castle of words,
    A kingdom of Hearts,
    and a land of dreams.

I just wanted to do that. 5/5 great poem.
