My silent goodbye

can you hear the silence?
there's something waiting in the dark
can you feel the beating
non-existing in my heart?
set down the broken pieces
step back and look at what you've done
red, on those hands of yours
frozen, you cannot run
no going back
no turning off the light
no burying your mistakes
or all that you've hide inside
can you hear the music
that ringing in your ears?
can you hear the sad piano playing
one that whispers on forgotten tears?
pick up the broken piece
try to put it back together
hoping that i'll never notice
this illusion could be even better
i'll put on a fake smile
noticing everythings out of place
if no one says a word you won't see the tears sliding down my face
do you hear the rain?
oh sweet music as it patters on the ground
do you hear the music playing
listen or you won't hear a sound
do you see the couple
dancing to their favorite tune?
do you see them holding each other in the rain?
do you know that i still love you?
do you hear the silence
as it passes with a loud sigh?
there are no words between us
as we silently walk on by
