Refuse to say Goodbye

by dandy   Aug 7, 2006

You came into my life
with that cute little face.
At a time when I needed a friend
you accepted my embrace.

Your fun-loving personality
was like that of a child.
When I held you I'd look in your eyes,
and at times I swear you smiled.

Rough kisses on the cheek at night,
quirky tricks during the day.
I miss it all so much and hate
that fate got in the way.

The day you left this world for good
was one of the saddest I've ever endured.
It wasn't fair to me or you
that your condition had no cure.

Tears are welling up right now
just knowing you're not here.
I think about you everyday,
the emotional pain is still severe.

You weren't just a pet
or another cat we had.
You were part of the family and now that you're gone
it seems all I am is sad.

I believe I'll see you again someday,
so I refuse to say goodbye.
"See you later" is what I'll think
when I look up to the sky.

My cat died of kidney failure 3 weeks ago. We had her for nine years and she was my baby girl. I still love her so much and miss her terribly...It hurts incredibly to know that I can never again hold her in my arms...R.I.P Abby ;-(
