Don't Say It If You Don't Mean It

Too many times have I seen
Young hearts broken down
All because of those three words
Did it all crumble to the ground

Too many times have I heard
A boy tell my friend he loved her
And once she gave him what he wants
He leaves her for someone "better"

Too many times have I been told
"I know that she's the one"
But my dear friend why soon after
Did you decide that she was only for fun

Too many times have I been asked
"If he loved me why did he go?"
I simply sit there and comfort
Because the answer we both would know

Too many times have I myself
Before been told "I love you"
Even now I'm still cautious
Though my current boyfriend says it too

It's difficult for girls to fight it
It's harder for boys not to say it
But it doesn't matter who its to
Don't say it if you don't mean it.
