Smile like the sadness hasn't caught you,
Making everyone think you're really happy.
Show your friends there is nothing to do,
That you feel better when they don't get involved.

Laugh so no on knows you cry yourself to sleep at night,
Making them think that you're finally better.
Keep those tears of yours out of sight,
You don't need your friends worrying about you again.

Smile like nothing is hurting inside,
You don't want your friends asking questions again.
Tell them to get off this bumpy ride,
They don't need to be sad too.

Laugh as if you will never cry again,
The laughter may be fake but your friends don't know that.
Make them think you'll never again get that sad pain,
It's quite easy to tell them what is not on your mind.

Smile so no one looks at your arm,
The last time they did you started to cry.
Make them think you through with the self-harm,
When really you don't know what else to do.

Laugh so no one knows you want to die,
It'll be better if you don't tell them.
Leave like this may make them cry,
But it's better if you don't have to be fake.
