I dont need you

by Rachel   Aug 9, 2006

A family is who we are supposed to trust
Who are meant to be there no matter what
Who wipe away our tears when our skies are grey
And help make our problems go away

You are someone I could never trust
You wasnt there when I needed you most
You are the reason my skies are grey
You caused the problems and now there here to stay

The things you do I will never understand
You hurt me so bad I wont ever forget
Who have I got if I cant have you
To guide me through life like you should do

But in a way I guess im glad
That I didnt have to learn your sorry ways
Ill take this as a lesson learnt
Ill extinguish the flame until you are burnt

Im now stronger and have no need for you
Im better than that I pulled through
If you affected my life that would let you win
But Im afraid Im fine you lose again

"You wasnt there when..." wasn't should be WEREN'T.

"...and now there here to stay" there should be THEY'RE

The last line of the poem confuses me. After all the build-up why are you afraid you're fine? Is afraid the right word there?

Also, I've noticed a trend of needing apostrophes in your contractions (I'm, I'll, etc.) in all of the poems I've read so far. It'd really add a lot to the poems to make sure you add them, unless there's a particular reason you keep them out?
