11 Years for Love

*Thank you for the title idea Kristy :)

I committed the murder
I plotted the crime
And now HE'S the one in jail
Serving my guilty time

I told him not to do it
That I knew the stakes were high
But that man had been so cruel to me
He deserved to die

But my husband did not listen
Said he'd never let them get me
That he would go there in my place
And to wait until he's free

He didn't get a trial
He right away confessed
I'm just so incredibly happy
He didn't get sentenced to death

I remember when they took him
How I wished it wasn't so
But since then it's been 2 years
...He still has 9 more to go

Still I'll continue waiting for him
My husband, so sweet and true
Who turned himself in and was sentenced to jail
For something he didn't do..

*Also inspired by another postcard, but it did not give details so I created the story line, it however, did say: "He's been in jail for 2 years for something I did...he has 9 more to go".
