I really wanted to write you a poem
A good one that properly rhymed
But how can i write you a poem
When you the only thing that's on my mind?
I would have big words and meaning
And tell you i care
Verbs and nouns and paragraphs..
All that stuff'd be there!
It would tell how much i long for you
Your laugh, your love and your heart
Explain that i cant stop thinking of you
And hate it whenever we're apart
I'd hope that you would read my poem
And maybe others too
Then perhaps they would understand
Just how i feel about you
As much as i wanted to write that poem
I found it so hard to do
I didn't quite know how to say what i wanted
In fact i hadn't a clue
So this is what it's come to
Some strange little words that don't fit
But thinking back on what i have written
I cannot improve it one bit
Although this poems hopeless
And doesn't make sense all the time
It does show what you mean to me
And hey! it even rhymes!
See you mean more than the world to me
More than words or poems can express
So I'll just let my actions do the talking
And hope my heart makes up for the rest.
