A human soul in disguise

by broken reflection   Aug 12, 2006

A horrifying sight,
I saw one night...

As I walked down Maiden street,
A hideous monster I did meet...

His skin was patched,
His face was scratched,
His mouth sewn shut,
His ears were cut,
His forehead had an iron plate strapped on,
I thought; that he was truly the devils spawn.

I ran but my short fast steps,
Were just like his long slow steps...

So I hid,
But no good that did,
He lifted me off my knees,
I pleaded... "Please, don't hurt me! Please..."

He looked at me with his odd colored eyes,
Then I realized that he had a human's soul...
...only it was in disguise.

I haven't seen him since then,
And I probably won't ever again.

All I know is I am his,
He is mine...
He is my Frankenstein.

Based obviously on the many tales of the Frankenstein monster.
