Bridal regret

Secrets under the wedding dress,
Will her day be different to the thoughts of her guests?

Crying at her reflection upon the mirror,
The cry of the choir gathering nearer.

Teardrops of mascara streams down her face,
She can't keep up with it's pace.

Thoughts of giving up and letting go,
Wonder her mind.

This moments hers, Her chance to shine,
Will she choose to fail and give it all up?

She walked slowly up the aisle,
And began to quicken her pace to reach the one heart shes about to break.

She asked the vicar to skip to the important part,
To get it over with and break his fragile heart.

She swiftly turn her head and stared hopelessly into his soft looking eyes,
The dry streaks of mascara became over flooded by her tears.

She inhaled a deep breath and slowly opened her lips and spoke the words unholy to a soul,
She told him it was over, She couldn't carry on anymore.

She threw a beautiful bouquet of flowers to the hard polished floor,
And ran up the aisle with tears flowing down her beautiful face.

Sometimes you don't always get what you want,
No matter how beautiful or lucky you are,
Dreams and wishes aren't everything,
Just having the confidence to speak up and tell the truth is a gift you'll have forever.
