Under Promised Stars

by SeppensAngel   Aug 12, 2006

The moon and stars are the only light
As we lie here in the clear night
I love you and you love me
Any one who looked could plainly see

I can see forever in your eyes
And what I see is no lie
I see myself spending my life with you
And I know you feel that way too

Your arm around me, my head on your chest
Of all positions, this is the best
I feel so comfortable, so safe from harm
I know I need not feel alarm

The stars twinkle in innocent beauty
They loudly boast, preforming their duty
Midnight sounds fill the fresh outside air
We lie peacefully silent, without a care.

"I love you," you say, "I always will
For you I would die or even kill
Please remember me forever and always
As you go through all of life's hallways."

"I love you too," I reply
"For you I would also die
I'll love you always and forever
I promise to forget you never."

Our love promised, we'll never part
To you I've given my whole heart
I'll always be near, never far
As we lie here, under promised stars
