Trapped by Darkness

The darkness covers my every limb
Engulfs me, inch by inch
There's no sun, no moon, no stars
The light is completely dimmed

It traps me, that darkness
Puts me in shackles, chains me
You may not believe me,
But all I say is true

But this darkness doesn't stop there
It reaches down inside me
Down to my very core
I breath it, I live it, this darkness

Darkness is a powerful element
The most powerful of all
It has taken over my mind
Doused my once pure heart

Darkness has a way about things
Sneaking into lives, undetected
But you know what I mean
You all do, don't you?

This darkness is in you, as it is me
It has filled your body, mind, and soul
You know exactly what I'm against
As we fight together, to free ourselves from darkness
