On the wind

by Deana   Aug 13, 2006

You whispered my name to the wind
and I could hear

You were so far away
and yet so so near

I longed to hear your words
trying to reach my heart

I wanted them to be for me
right from the very start

Maybe when we made a wish
we wished on the same star

since God could not join our hands
he gently joined our hearts

I felt your tears in the rain
as it touched my cheek

I wondered if you were crying
did you feel alone and weak

Could I send you the sunshine
so I could make you smile

to find a rainbow for you
I`d walk a thousand miles

So I send you my thanks
on the wings of a butterfly

you made me realize today
my heart is still alive.

I like how you used a two line stanza thing. It's something I may try one day, but I usually stick to the traditional 4 line stanza. 5/5 good poem, keep up the good work.

Deana, a beautiful penned you've done here. so breathtaking emotions, lovely yet so well ended.... To hope, to yearn, to love, to need, To feel the cut, yet never bleed, To know the life that you may live, To do the wrong... and then forgive. To smell, to hear, to taste, to see, To feel the joy when viewing thee, To know thy touch of gentle lips... keep writing, you've a great talent...anyway thanks for your beautiful comment, i very appreciated! have a great weekend, take care. bert.
