No Longer Worth Playing

by Stumbling Shaman   Aug 15, 2006

You expect me to save you from your games
To drag you for a while out of yourself
Make you see what you already know
All your problems are laid at my feet
While I'm a hundred miles away
Everyone is screaming, I can't even speak
What am I supposed to do; what the hell can I say?
You lay the blame but ;I'm not even there
You won't let me in
To see if the laughs outweigh the tears
And you won't let me know
If the gulf between us is as wide as I fear

I hear voices, pleading contempt
Desperate venom, childish cries
For answers you know I cannot provide
My tears have run dry, why do I still care?
Writhing milieus, tainted words
Wanton pretensions, driven by despair
I'm fading before the intermittent, impetuous streams
And can but wonder at what I haven't heard
For every word from you is twisting the knife
Left naught to do but watch a blank screen
I play with indifference and turn away from life
And pray that nothing between us was ever as it seemed

Its good, but you really need to work on the meter of the poem. The first part doesn't match the second part in terms of meter. I do like the meaning behind it though.
