What?

by Stumbling Shaman   Aug 15, 2006

It just isn't right, I'm telling you
Nothing doing, no inspiration
No message to get across
Yet here I am sacrificing trees
Wasting our precious resources
Just to make a mark
Which in hindsight will undoubtedly be
More blot than point
Perhaps if I somehow squeeze in
The wonderful word disappoint
To make it seem like I'm rhyming
Then maybe brag about my unholy knack
For impeccable timing (overrated, almost non-existent)
Talk -or in this case write- myself up
Insert meaningless non-sequiters
Like how full is your cup?
Ask the hapless victim
That's you dear reader
To count the tautologies
I know, and you do as well
There is no way in hell
This could pass for a poem
Just put it down to a lesson in life
One man's brief escape from his strife...
And by the by, just to ruin your fun
The answer naturally is, there's only one
Almost, I think... I don't know
Let's just thank God that I lost the flow
I mean, who knows where this could've gone?
Anyway, this piece of crap was brought to you
By the bored and lovelorn
Sorry, I'm really really sorry

I don't think of this as being a funny poem. I might be wrong, but my interpretation of it. Was of a very sad and depressed mad man. But either way it was still pretty deep and I enjoyed reading it. Keep up the good work.

Is this really the ravings of a bored mad man or are you a literary genius pouring forth your profound wisdom?
Either way, a lovely funny and insightful(?) write.
