Advice

You think you own who ever is close to you,
They are just something you can claim,
You forget that the person has feelings,
You forget that they have a voice, heart and name.

You think that we are here to be abused,
And they must do and act like you,
Some people can cope for a while,
Then they walk away and say it’s through.

Have you ever asked a person how they feel?
Asked them if they are ok inside?
Have you looked inside someone,
And instantly know the feelings they are trying to hide?

Try treating someone as a human,
Without taking everything they own,
Try letting them be their own person,
Not turning them into your clone.

Don’t take everything away from them,
So they loose their family and friends,
If they are going through a rough patch,
Be there for them until it ends.

People are not there for you to walk all over,
They are not there for you to manipulate,
I think you better take this advice,
Before you find that it is much too late.

After reading alot of your poems, i realised that there all advice and statements. You express well what you felt, but what was it like to feel that? dont get me wrong, your poem was good, but it leaves me with nothing to imagine, and little to think about
