Perceive Above the Pain (Huitain)

by sibyllene   Aug 16, 2006

The livid rays birthed by an angry sun
beat down celestial scolding on our backs.
The shining wonder that the orb summons
makes up for the the gentleness it lacks.
The sparkling water by the trodden tracks,
like crystal laughter glinting off the waves:
oasis for the soul, as summer acts
the villain in the scripted play it paves.

This is really good. I tried to write a huitain the other day, and although I finished it, I really need to clean it up. Yours is wonderful. The flow and the imagery was right on.

Wowee-- This was beautiful! I've never written a Huitain before, but I think I might try and give it a go someday. I thought you did a really good job with this though. Loved the details and imagry. Well done! Keep it up! 5/5
