The Cynic

by Lenny   Aug 16, 2006

Tragedy weaves
The cynics life
Pinnacles of mock
And scathing, loathe
The plots, the massacres
Of individualist opinion
And slaughter, the ritual
Of an everyday

The zenith to the cynic
The crushing, and debasing,
All to fulfill some
Injudicious mind,
Imprudent the skeptic,
The disparager, the doubter,
Misanthropic the methods,
Of our pessimistic pal,

The cynic is well based,
Resourced with retort,
Riposte mandatory,
Sardonic and mordant,
Inexorable, inevitable,
The folly to our scorn,
The cynic brings out the cynic
In our own catch twenty two,

The paradox created,
Cyclical and absurd
The chronic condition
Frequents the sociopath
And tragedy weaves
The cynics life
And society turns full circle

As the cynic is sneered at
In the implausible one-two.
