My Superman

by SomewhereAmongThePieces   Aug 16, 2006

This is a song I wrote at four o'clock in the morning I couldn't sleep and I had these words rushing through my head.

I'm falling into a depression and it's burning to my bones.
I'm screaming at the darkness from a pain I've never known.
and I'm afraid to admit I'm scared to death, I'm searching for your hand.
I know you're out there somewhere, my soulmate-my superman.

So catch me before i hit the ground
Calm me before I make a sound
Hold me until I no longer shake
light this darkness, my lonely heartbreak

It's hard to be patient when I'm falling so fast.
I'm trying my very best, but how long must this last?
And a thought crosses my mind-though I try to resist.
But I just can't help wondering... does my superman even exist?

So catch me before i hit the ground
Calm me before I make a sound
Hold me until I no longer shake
light this darkness, my lonely heartbreak

You don't have to be so strong and you musn't wear a cape of red
I don't care if you can't fly, just sweep me off my feet instead
I don't need you to save me from a villain, that's not the enemy I fear
I need you to save me from myself, dear superman-if you're even here

So catch me before i hit the ground
Calm me before I make a sound
Hold me until I no longer shake
light this darkness, my lonely heartbreak
X2

Please wipe away my shedded tears
And tell me you will always be here.

This poem is a little better than the other one. Sorry but thats just my opinion. Anyway, the rhyming was not forced at all.

Please wipe away my shedded tears
And tell me you will always be here.

these lines sound so needy and desparate, just like the mood and tone of the whole poem

    wonderful job!
