War

by jenny   Aug 16, 2006

There's this war going on,
It started since the day I was born.
The war between my mother and father, too.
Unfortunately in these situations you never know what to do.
Being stuck between the two people you care about is never fun and leaves you in doubt,
In doubt on who to believe.
They've both cried and told you things that left you confused, and with your heart bruised.
Can't they see that this hate is killing me inside?
It makes me want to run and hide.
Sometimes I feel like I'm in a game of tug-o-war, and little by little,
They're tearing my heart in half.
Whenever they feel like you're about to choose the other one,
They attack you with the worst things,
Leaving you with pain and guilt.
This war doesn't seem to want to end, and I find that I'm feeling weaker and ready to give up.
I've shedded so many tears through tout the years and I'm tired,
Tired of having to choose between the people I love most,
But nothing will make them listen because with them I'm just invisible,
Almost like a ghost.
They care about themselves and until they get their way,
Nothing else matters in this cold, cold war.
