SCARS

by BitsAndPieces   Aug 16, 2006

She tries hard to keep it ;
thinks no one knows her secret

Long sleeves became her best friend
it seems as if the friendship wouldn't end

not today , not tomorrow , not ever
keeping the secret - she thinks she's clever

she hides everything she doesn't want to be
she hides being her - she hides behind me

I used to be her sunshine - I used to make her laugh
I used to make her happy - I was the better half

but something changed - she took control
she was only a body - got rid of her soul

I saw her getting away - leaving me alone
I saw her becoming only flesh and bone

The body she was - she had to change a bit
it was a little too perfect - so she took care of it

covered it with paintings - some that will remain
she didn't mind the blood - she didn't feel the pain

so now she's one big scar - trying to hide
arms with bracelets - 10 on each side

no one knows her story - nobody will care
maybe there will be a day - where she decides to share .

(yeah well, we all know what this is about :) I stopped a few months ago . I still think about it a lot - but i don't allow myself to start all that again)
