Point Roberts - memories missed

by AwakeInDreamin   Aug 21, 2006

From the minute we arrived in the parking lot,
We couldn't wait to get out of that spot,
The border was an hour away,
With that we were more than okay,
Not knowing what to expect everyone wanted to get there,
Finally we were standing in the middle of nowhere,
At first no one looked excited,
But when the day got rollin we turned delighted,

We started off capture flag,
The other team won with a voice of brag,
But since we were at camp we had to smile,
Setting up our cabins took awhile,
But the fake mice in the holes were crazy,
When we went to sleep we were nothing but lazy,
The next morning we were all surprised,
Since breakfast was first apprised,

We spent the day at the beach,
Nothing seemed out of reach,
Sitting on the dock with 8 of my friends,
Sitting by the dock's ends,
We gathered and bonded,
These friends and I have never been so bonded,
There must have been something in the sea's air,
Since something happened with me there,
The boy I use to hate,
I now think is my true fate,
After a long conversation about what seemed like nothing,
I opened my eyes to hear screaming,
I realized it was me,
Cause someone through muscles at me,
So I threw it back again,
I hit the wrong person and left a stain,
We all thought he'd be mad,
But we just laughed cause it wasn't to bad,
After the beach we were filled dinner,
And Thomas named me a winner,
The other winners and I were sent to clean,
Luckily games came in between,

We played a very long game,
And only one person could get some fame,
In this game I was low,
So I'd have to run but I was too slow,
But at least I found the best get away,
When we all returned to the hall's doorway,
We were sent to devotions,
We all showed more emotions,

Later on we had a camp fire that was 3 feet tall,
When we had benches for all,
We heard a loud noise from the bushes behind me,
I screamed so loud Thomas called me screamy,

The last day was the hardest,
They even made us work the hardest,
But we can not stop playing,
Cause of Jon's water balloon spraying,
We laughed and moaned through the last few hours,
That we knew were just ours,
After an emotional lecture and deep conversation,
It was time to clean the final station,

My memories here will always be missed,
If I could I'd right me reasons on a list,
But my main reason is losing the friends that I gained,
And now as I stare at my piece of paper I feel like I've been drained,
Point Roberts taught me things I thought I never could,
Point Roberts made me realize I liked the boy I never thought I would,
And now to turn and say good-bye,
Hurts my soul with one last sigh.

Jess, this is a perfect way to explain that weekend! Im so glad I shared it with you and everyone else there! Now onto the poem... beautifully written, lots of emotion! I'm glad you had a awesome time, and even though it left us with questions concerning new friends (and maybe something more;)), it was one weekend I'll never forget
