Why Hold On?

Why must i love someone i can't have?
why must i hold on?
I fell so hard
not knowing what pain it would bring
i tried to let go
but wasn't entirely sure how
to love you was great
but i know you'll never feel the same
I know it's a lost cause
so why do i hold on?
what purpose does it have?
what future do we have that i can anticipate?
