Fallen Angel

by Katelyn   Aug 22, 2006

Breath of air upon your back
Lifting your hair around you
So concentrating not willing to distract
We always knew you should've been
A queen

Always willing to help those in need
Never spoke a wrong word
You lived in a world at your own speed
We watched you with envious eyes
You shone through

You always remembered stuff about everyone
If somebody needed you you'd be there
When someone was down you'd make it fun
To everybody around you were nothing but
An angel

Never did you show the horrid pain
Of what happened behind the doors of your home
I'm sure it would've driven you insane
If we'd tried to help work it out
It was never your fault

Slowly you fell into the same hole
Your siblings had gone into too
The life around you finally took its toll
For you tried your first hit after all
Drugs became your life

Because nobody understood enough
Getting high helped you escape
Trying so much different stuff
Trying to numb the hurting
You became cold

No longer did you help those down
You brushed everyone off to be alone
We never saw you much around
Maybe that' all it was for you
A means of hiding

Still, we wouldn't ever forget what we learned
You taught us the point of life
Watching you fade, how much it burned
You threw everything away
Unknowingly

Though we don't know you anymore
You were still a part of our life
We still remember how you were before
Still a queen in your own way
A fallen angel
