Where are you going?
Why would you leave me for so long?
I need you in my life..
You need me to be strong
What about your wife
She needs you to be there
She's my mom, you know she only cares!
Why are you leaving?
You shouldn't have to go
Did you have to join the ARMY?
I wish it wasn't so
Forget about Iraq
Forget about korea
We're the ones who really, truly need ya
Can't you sneak away?
We'll hide you here at home
You know your son, my brother
Doesn't like to be left alone
Why are you going?
We don't have to go to war
We're a peaceful country
We've worked things out before!
I just don't understand
I don't get why you have to go
There's plenty of other people
They should have to go!
Why can't they send the neighbor
Or the mailman instead
I don't care who they take
I'm gonna lose my head!
I just want you to stay

Do I have to say goodbye?
I promise I'll try to hide
All my tears inside
Then after you go away
I'll be crying everyday
So will mommy, my sister, and my brother
But I'm the oldest
I should be the strong one
They'll all look up to me, I'll have to show them
But deep inside...
I'll miss you, I'll hurt with the harshest pain
I'll think of you always
I'll count down everyday!

    my bf hes only 16 and he got called to start training on his b-day then he is suposto to go during christmas and after he told me i cried i no how it is

    yes, it's true.. my dad is in Iraq now, has been for awhile.. We spend our time praying and hoping that he'll come home ok.. when he calls we're filled with relief but we do miss him, and we do cry at times. Thanks...

    You spoke for so many who had family in the military, I was blessed that my cousin went to Iraq and came home in one piece, I know others weren't so fortunate. Don't stop writing, its the best outlet for all kinds of feelings!! Bravo, I gave this a 5!!
