Turning 18

by ally   Aug 23, 2006

Eva wonder what it be like to be 18
my time of being a kid is almost over
decisions are coming my life of childish acts are almost over
now i need to stand up and grow up
my parents are waking me up to a new world a world where there are no tuck in good nights
and allowance
a world where there is no i love u i\'m sorry and everythings okay
A world where DSS will own me and a decison will be made
I sit here thinking long and hard
what is right what is wrong
honestly i don\'t understand
i guess 18 isn\'t what it\'s crack up to be

  • I like the message of this poem very much so, and I can relate to it. I'll be 18, July 18th. And I remember as a little girl thinking "I can't wait until I am 18, I can do whatever I want, whenever, and I can move out"..But now I think about it, and I say "Ugh, I want to be a kid again, where I don't have any worries, except to remember to feed the dog and such. lol"..It isn't what it's all cracked up to be. But such as life. I enjoyed this poem. Continue writing. =)
