Stay

by Lisa   Aug 26, 2006

I'll read this to you, save your sight
You'll need your eyes for the storm
Your anchor has been pulled
You are sailing away

Only truth can save us now

Our promises only flew in azure skies
Clipped and grounded in lies
I always found truth to be stale
Like one with vision reading braile
But now, I can only see light
No more bad and wrong, only good and right
When too much happiness is in the past
I'll truly believe we couldn't last

No way
Not today

I long to be there by your side
I reside in this pew instead
Praying for your safe return
But you are moving too fast, too far

Only love can bring us back now

All the mysteries that you told
Never gave me much to hold
All the lyrics that you sung
Never stroked, only stung
All the wisdom you shared
Never showed me that you cared
All the rhythm in your stride
Never kept me by you side

It is true
It was you

I totally gave this poem a 5/5, i thought it was really true but bitter at the same time. i felt the emotion and i loved the weird rhyming (like sung and stung) and lines that you used, very origional and we need more of that on this site!
