Christ, Savior, Redeemer

by death cab cutie   Aug 27, 2006

He was born into this world
With not even a name.
He was wrapped in swaddling clothes
And cared for by a dame.

I was born into this world
With not even a name.
I was put into a dress
And held by priesthood flames.

He was given a name by God
Hed be known by throughout mankind
Love was greatly given
But not for long, hed find.

I received a name and blessing
On a bright, Sunday morn.
So much love was given
Just from one girl born.

He grew up so perfectly
He made not one mistake.
He taught the people under his fathers care
And he put his life at stake.

Through the years Id grow
And learn not to hate.
Id be baptized after not too long
When I reach the age of eight.

He became so highly hated
By those who He served.
Doing the right, our Savior was condemned
But the murderer was reserved.

Id have to make choices,
A CTR ring always in sight.
Id have to repent for sins
Other choices would be right.

Between two criminals,
He hung on the cross.
Suffering the sins of all races,
His life was lost.

Pain and anguish,
Id have to bear
But nothing like His,
Nothing could compare.

Three days He laid
In a tomb until the day
He would arise and teach,
Affect the world past today.

Id be able to live my life,
Repent for all my mistakes
Because of the sacrifice of Him.
Thank you Lord, thanks.
