Rising To The Challenge

by Dwain   Mar 8, 2004

Everybody is just a stranger
Rising to the challenge
All the while there’s danger
The hazard sign steady blinking

Blinking in exhilaration
As if the challenge was won
All but one in celebration
Sheer disaster as struck

Struck so close to home
Salt in an open wound
Like the fall of Rome
It could not have been foreseen

Foresight of forsaken silence
Growing two worlds apart
Words used tried to convince
Of what was torn from the beginning

Beginning another challenge
He rises yet again
A phoenix from the ashes
He hopes time amends
