Fly Away From Here

by Evangeline   Aug 28, 2006

I feel like I could fly,
So let me fly oh let me fly,
Fly-fly-fly up so high,
And through the Milky Way until I die.

Close your eyes,
Just smell that good old salty air,
Seeping through your memories,
Flowing through your dreams.

I feel so light,
So far away,
I can barely remember the memories of those times,
But I'll keep on flying everyday.

We aren't going back for a long time,
Oh no-no-no,
We have to wait many long weeks,
Lets start counting them down now.

All those memories in my soul,
Fading leaving little holes,
But so long as I have one,
Oh just let me fly.

Memories bring tears,
Every time you remember you feel tears grazing your skin,
Burning you,
Reminding you of those good old days.

I'm flying above the world,
Up through the skies and the galaxies,
You cant stop me,
I'm flying so fast.

Oh memories don't fade away,
I see you slipping through the seams of my mind,
Don't go oh no-no-no,
You're so faded you must have taken please years ago.

I feel so brilliant well I fly though the heavens,
Bathed in the light of stars,
I could fly through sun unharmed,
Doesn't matter so long as I keep on flying.

Oh there you go changing me,
Into me yeah now I'm me,
Surely I was never that shy little girl,
No she ain't me no more I'm me now and that's all that matters.

Can you see me down below?
I'm up so high,
Yeah because I'm free,
I'm so far away I'm hard to see.

I remember the people,
Their faces all aglow,
Could you feel it?
Could you feel their souls singing?

I'm me oh I'm me,
That's got to count for something,
That little shy is someone else but I'm me,
And I know that counts.

I can feel myself falling back through the skies,
Down to the shimmering waters,
Back to their faces,
Oh back to earth's sorrows
because the days of flying have ended yet again.

Yeah it's over,
Putting away my jet pack,
I'll wait until next year,
Then we'll fly yeah baby we'll fly together away from here.
