Right to smiles

by Sarah   Aug 28, 2006

Deadened feelings
Numb to care
Gliding through
Not caring what is right and what is fair
Stale air
Standing by what's true

Loving people
But not knowing
Why you do
Long gone emptiness is sadly growing
Its showing
Fading mask to see thru

Passing softly
Thru the grey
Not sad
Content but all alone going on my way
Astray
No real reason to be mad

Stirred a feeling
Hit a spot
Quite confusing
Off my guard I'm oddly caught
Guidance sought
But all they tell me is what I'm losing

A quite joy
Push aside
What I'm told
But there's a quiet smile I will hide
I'll abide
But to God my heart is sold

God given gift
Him I'll praise
A smile
Feels so content I hope it stays
Strange ways
A blissful way to be awhile

I have a right to smile
