Summer Rain

by Jenni   Aug 29, 2006

She dances in circles while the sun shines in her hair,
he watches her with a gleam in his eye.
Spinning and dancing and laughing with not a care,
she stops suddenly with a soft sigh.

She looks into the shining sun
the clouds slowly turning a dark grey.
She pouts, "For now my fun is gone."
He coyly grins and glances her way.

She takes one cautious step...
Tightly holding her breath...

To him her hair smells of summer rain,
so he runs his fingers through.
She feels it in every single vein
as the sky loses its blue.

She turns and looks in his direction
and he looks her straight in the eyes.
The summer rain falls on true perfection
as they look into the grey sky.

He has nothing that's here to gain
but a beautiful summer rain.
