Love vs. trust

I don't care what they think
No one understands
The way I feel about him
My heart's beating in his hands

Though every time I turn around
A knife's shoved through my back
My scars are starting to add up
My trust is starting to lack

When trust is something you've lost with one
It's hard enough to be friends
But my love conquers everything
So I guess it just depends

Though what is love without trust
It's love based upon a lie
A relationship built on falseness
So my only question is Why

Why do I love him so easily
After everything has gone wrong
Why do I continue to trust him
When he's lied to me for so long

I guess when you find the one you truly love
There's nothing you can do
And you'd trust them with every ounce you have left
To believe they love you too.

My heart's bleeding in his hands
It's been dying from the pain
Though all he's done is lie and deceive
It seems I love him all the same
