Regret

by sandra   Nov 8, 2006

Regret lingers here as they walk away
She's afraid of her feelings, he's wanting to stay
She knows nothing of love, but what she's learned from her past
They lie, and tease, it would never last

She said "I saved us from ourselves, all things end with time.
I'm sorry I love you, but you just can't be mine."
But He is strong, and says "It's alright"
Though they both go home and cry tonight

Crimson red tears fall from her arm
She regrets what she said, she didn't mean harm
Yet it continues on while she starts to cry
Her mouth betrays all, but her heart cannot lie

She continues on living just passing the day
Trying to stay strong, but she's fading away
Depressions sunken in, she can't go back now
Though she's still here and she doesn't know how

All the weight she's lost, her blood is down low
She won't make it much longer, and she hopes he knows
She made a mistake, she's regretted too long
She's been fighting to stay, but she can no longer hold on
