Raining tears.

Age 7:

daddy i drew a picture of us
I'll put it under my pillow,
just like when my tooth falls out
you told me that story, remember daddy?

um daddy, mummy still cries.
i do too, but she can ever know.
will it be our little secret?
if she knew she'd cry harder.
and my heart is already broken enough.

daddy? you hear me dont you.
sometimes im scared that my words don't reach you.
at recess i lie on the grass and look up at the sky.
its far far away. i cant reach it
but one day ill come visit you.
ill bring you your favourite ice cream.

grandma bought me a doggy.
i tell him stories about you all the time.
i think you would of liked him.
no, you would of loved him.
daddy, when i cry, do you cry?
i cry alot, and i wished on the biggest star i could see that you are happy.

jenny says that when it rains it means god is crying. are you crying too?
if so, i hope it never rains again.
be sunny for me.
please daddy.
be sunny for mummy.

i wish i could stay forever and ever
but mummy told me to go to sleep.
every night i dream that when i wake up you'll be standing next to me.
its been a year daddy and every day i wake up alone.
